PREPARATION

  • Obtained by passing chlorine through strontium hydroxide solution.

  • Available in Technical and  laboratory grades

HAZARDS

  • Can prove explosive when comes in contact with other organic compounds
  • Catches fire upon heating and rubbing
  • It is a strong oxidizing agent

USES It is used in many fireworks formulas and tracer bullets as Tracer ammunition
